Take this site for what it's worth
It's important to understand that no two divorces are exactly the same, just as no two successful marriages are identical. Some marriages end because of issues that are far too complex to be handled by us. Other marriages involve such large amounts of assets or liabilities that they must be handled by truly qualified professionals. This site isn’t necessarily for everyone who is involved in or considering divorce. Here’s some of the folks and scenarios we feel would be better served through more traditional methods.
If you are trying to get out of an abusive relationship where either the safety of you and / or your children are at risk, please seek professional help immediately! Abuse, be it sexual, physical or mental in nature is illegal and immoral, and you do not have to accept it. Your safety and the safety of your children will be protected by law enforcement and other agencies. Seek their assistance immediately. If you don’t know where to look, we’ve gathered up some links to online resources that may be able to help, but again, if you can’t find what you are looking for here, keep looking locally. Help is out there, and all you need to do is reach out.
If your spouse has become engaged in criminal or drug related behavior that is putting you and your children at risk, you must be adult enough to accept that you may not be able to stop the self-destruction of your spouse or your marriage, but you can save yourself and your children from being caught up in the trouble that is coming down the road.
This site is really geared towards being a resource for the more typical divorce, that in which a couple has decided that the marriage must end, but where both individuals involved can act as reasonable, responsible adults throughout the process. We want to help guide you through the process, so that you can get on with your life and start living with some happiness again. But please, understand as we do that a web site can only be a single resource in what can be a complex and difficult process.
